Sura al-Masdat

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (0)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

﴿المسد، 0﴾

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَ تَبَ (1)

Perish the hands of the Father of Flame! Perish he!

﴿المسد، 1﴾

مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَ مَا کَسَبَ (2)

No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains!

﴿المسد، 2﴾

سَيَصْلَى نَاراً ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ (3)

Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame!

﴿المسد، 3﴾

وَ امْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ (4)

His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!-

﴿المسد، 4﴾

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِنْ مَسَدٍ (5)

A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck!

﴿المسد، 5﴾
